Barbara Stephens

Stephens, 74, of Normal, formerly of Farmer City, died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 12, 2017) at Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac.Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Weldon Baptist Church, 437 State Highway 48, Weldon. Pastor Clyde Shreve will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with inurnment at Greenleaf Cemetery in Farmer City at a later date.Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.She was born on April 18, 1943, in Mayfield, Ky., a daughter of William and Nadine (Ellis) Brewer. She married Bill C. Stephens on June 30, 1961. He passed away on Feb. 3, 2016.Survivors include her children, Sandy (Tom) Corcoran of Pontiac, Kathy White of Farmer City and William Stephens of Decatur; siblings, Gene Brewer of Crawfordsville, Ind., Pat McGlaughlin of Crawfordsville, Ind., Stella VanZile of Madisonville, Tenn., Della Nuckols of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Herman Culbertson of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 28 nieces and nephews; and she was Grandma Barb to many who loved her.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill.Barb attended Crawfordsville High School in Indiana.
